The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services for Montgomery County is seeking applicants for the following position:


 

Job Title:   

Program Coordinator

Division:  

Treatment and Supportive Services

Reports To:

Director, Treatment Services

Summary & Responsibilities:

Coordinate and work with local human services organizations, school districts, criminal and juvenile justice systems, child welfare/child protection system, other Montgomery County Levy organizations, and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to effect linkages of and/or to broker mental health and alcohol and other drugs services to meet the community needs of identified organization.

Create and maintain agency alliances and act as a community liaison by creating positive working relationships with community leaders, partners, and other related organizations. Coordinate and work with appropriate stakeholder groups to ensure their investment in, and active participation on, relevant community initiatives

Provide leadership in strategic planning, establishing goals and objectives, developing logic models and action plans, evaluating and monitoring committee activities, and ensuring progress and advancement of community initiatives to address behavioral health needs in the community

Completes all other duties as assigned within scope of skills and abilities to assist the Treatment and Supportive Services Division

Requirements:

Master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline preferred or Bachelor Degree with a minimum of five years’ experience in community engagement, strategic planning, or comparable leadership position.

Minimum five years advising administrative and/or governmental officials of current behavioral health issues.

Minimum five years specifically working with communities and populations through public policy work and leadership roles within public and/or non-profit organizations.

Must have experience working with current behavioral health issues from a systems level and can articulate their impact on communities. Must have exceptional administrative skills and experience coordinating programs/services that are community based.

Interpersonal; written and oral communication; group facilitation and organizational skills; knowledge of human services administration, planning, funding and evaluation; ability to handle sensitive data; proficiency in handling multiple tasks; ability to deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Experience in PC software to include Word and Excel is required.

Driver’s license, insurance and operational vehicle are required. Travel may be frequent, including travel outside Dayton area.

CONTRACT POSITION


Summary:

The SSI Ohio Project at the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio is seeking a self-motivated, experienced individual to provide services to clients in Montgomery County and surrounding areas. The SSI Ohio Specialist will assist individuals that are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless and/or preparing to exit institutions and suffering from mental illness and/or physical disabilities to successfully apply for SSI/SSDI and other benefits using the SSI Ohio Project process.

Responsibilities:

Work with the applicants and professional staff to assemble a complete detailed SSI/SSDI application using the SSI Ohio Project process.

Inform and assist applicants with applying for other benefits, if eligible.

Document, track and report all data for all applicants.

Refer applicant to housing resources upon receiving SSI/SSDI benefits.

Conduct outreach and inform community of the service being provided

Remain aware of all deadlines and submit documentation to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner

Maintain a professional standard, confidentiality and adhere to SSI Ohio Project agreements and standards.

Attend all required SSI Ohio trainings

Other duties as assigned by the SSI Ohio Project Manager

Requirements:

Completion of associate degree program or undergraduate program core coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Social Science, Health or closely related field.

Three years’ experience assisting homeless, physically and/or mentally ill populations with applying for Social Security and/or other public benefits.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Social Science, Health or closely related field.

Preferred SSI Ohio certification, but not required.

One year experience assisting homeless, physically and/or mentally ill populations with applying for Social Security and/or other public benefits.

Must be able to work effectively with various community-based organizations and possess effective communications skills; including verbal and written.

Must have the ability to easily learn and use various computer programs.

Must have a professional attitude, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work effectively in stressful situations, think critically, and organizational skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with descriptive/clinical writing.

Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a several days a week within Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
