ADAMHS Partnering With Local Candle Company For Anniversary Of Oregon District Tragedy

DAYTON, OH - Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) will be participating in the community Nine Minutes of Silence for the anniversary of the mass shooting that occurred on August 4, 2019 in the Oregon District. ADAMHS has partnered with 1880 Candle Co. to sell candles to be used during the Nine Minutes of Silence on the anniversary date, August 4, 2020 at 8:04 PM.
The Executive Director of ADAMHS, Helen Jones-Kelley stated, “It is anticipated that the anniversary will be an emotional day, especially for those who lost a loved one or were present during the tragedy. Although it has been a year, our community will be continuing to recover for quite some time.” Jones-Kelley went on to add, “We hope these candles not only shine light on those we lost, but also act as a symbol of hope.”
Candles will go on sale for $10/each from:
- July 24, 2020 at 6 PM – August 2, 2020 at Noon.
- Purchases can be made online at www.1880candleco.com/daytonshines.
Candle pick-up will be:
- August 3 - 4, 2020 from 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
- There will be a tent set-up near the corner of 1001 East Second Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402 -Bldg.100.
All proceeds from the candles will be donated to the Oregon District Business Association.
